James Simcock
BVSc (Hons), MANZCVS (Internal Medicine) Registered Specialist of Small Animal Surgery, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons

Dr. James Simcock, an accomplished small animal surgeon based in Melbourne, Australia, obtained his veterinary degree at the University of Melbourne. He is a specialist in small animal veterinary surgery. He has a particular interest in orthopaedic surgery, including joint replacement and neurosurgery.

Dr. Simcock is a Diplomate of both the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) and the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS). He has previously been an examiner for the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons fellowship exams. Additionally, he is the program director of Southpaws ECVS residency program.

He is a founder and director of Southpaws Specialty and Referral Hospital and the continuing education platform VetDojo. He has numerous publications in the fields of orthopaedic, urogenital and oncologic surgery. James is passionate about teaching both students and veterinarians.

In particular he loves to share practical and simple tips and tricks that aim to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the surgical field. He is known to take what he does very seriously but not himself too seriously. The workshops he delivers aim to enhance the learning experience through development of a relaxed and collaborative environment.
