This immersive one-day workshop is designed to refine and strengthen the practical competencies of veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and technicians in small animal dental radiology, which is a foundational skill in small animal veterinary dentistry. Participants will engage in hands-on practice, supported by direct supervision and tailored guidance from experienced tutors.
The workshop focuses on acquiring diagnostic-quality intraoral radiographs, with structured opportunities to practice technique refinement and troubleshoot common errors. Equipment handling and maintenance are covered in depth for nurses and technicians, ensuring confidence in daily practice.
Dr. Kayoko Kuroda
BVSc, MANZCVS Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery

Dr Kayoko Kuroda graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2006.Β Since completing her degree, she has pursued her twin passions of teaching and clinical practice while working in small animal general practice around Queensland.Β She obtained Membership in the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery in 2018.Β Β
Based in Brisbane (QLD), Dr Kayo is currently working as a consultant at Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) in Sunshine Coast and roving veterinary dentistry referral practice, Mobile Pet Dentistry, as well as a small animal general practice, a few days a week, where she manages complex cases and performs advanced dentistry.Β
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Kayo is an active and committed educator, delivering lectures and hands-on workshops in small animal dentistry across Australia and internationally. Her teaching portfolio includes contributions to the University of Sydneyβs Centre for Veterinary Education (CVE) and other continuing education platforms.
Maggie Burley
RVN, Cert IV VN, Dip VN (Dental), VTS (Dentistry), Cert IV TAE

With 20 yearsβ experience in the industry, Maggie has a passion for the care of dental patients that led her to achieving the Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (Dental) and the Veterinary Technician Specialty (Dentistry). Her career has spanned both general practice and specialty, and working alongside vets with Memberships in Dentistry assisting in more advanced procedures. Her passion for dentistry is contagious which has led her into her current role with iM3 in Clinic Support & Education. Maggie provides instruction and support both locally to small teams in their clinics, domestically at various Conferences and to International audiences on a wide variety of dentistry related topics. As a member of the WSAVA Global Dental Committee, Maggie represents the pivotal role that veterinary nurses & technicians play in the care of the dental patient.
