Jigs are most commonly used for the TPLO procedure, however their use is also applicable to other surgeries such as CBLO, DFO and other corrective osteotomies to treat angular limb deformity. Their use during TPLO is somewhat controversial amongst specialists, with some finding that they slow the procedure down which becomes significant when you are performing 10-15 TPLOs a week. However they are strongly recommended for surgeons in general practice who do not perform the procedure in high numbers. There is also evidence to show that they can reduce the rate of certain complications, such as fracture of the fibula. At Knight Benedikt we stock a variety of TPLO jigs, including the VOI and Knight Benedikt slocum style jigs which come in two sizes, the Kyon jig which comes in 3 sizes and has the option to add a jig extender, and the IMEX mini jig.
